Mazovia Energy Agency (MAE) introduces itself not only as an efficient energy expert but also as a significant player in promoting sustainable energy and environmentally friendly solutions in Central and Eastern Europe.
Established in 2009, MAE was created to shape energy policy and support energy planning in the Mazovian Voivodeship. The company has demonstrated its competence in several international projects, being recognized on different regional, national, and EU levels.
MAE’s role as a partner in the CEESEN-BENDER project is not only to provide technical expertise but also to bring in significant experience and knowledge gained from their participation in various sustainable energy projects. Their areas of expertise encompass renewable energy technologies, building energy efficiency, energy planning, and energy economics. MAE’s experience extends to engaging small and medium-sized enterprises and various stakeholders to promote energy efficiency and environmentally friendly solutions.
Furthermore, MAE is experienced in project management and possesses the skills necessary to conduct efficient international cooperation projects. MAE’s goal within the CEESEN-BENDER project is to reinforce and adapt building management governance to support energy renovations in private multi-apartment buildings. To achieve this, they will conduct various activities, including analyzing ownership structures, raising awareness, monitoring air quality, and identifying renovated “model” buildings.
With a proven track record of reliability and expertise, MAE has actively participated in over 14 international projects, funded by prominent institutions such as the European Commission, Swedish Institute, and various EU programs including Horizon 2020, LIFE, I3 and INTERREG Europe. Notably, MAE was entrusted by the European Investment Bank as the manager of the JESSICA Urban Development Fund in the Mazovia Region, further solidifying its role in energy investment projects and fund management. Most recently, the agency was nominated World Bank expert on energy efficiency in cities.
MAE’s core competencies span a wide spectrum of sustainable energy fields, including renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency in buildings, district heating networks, energy planning, and capacity building. The agency’s multifaceted approach encompasses research, innovation transfer, and the establishment of strategic partnerships to stimulate regional and local sustainable development initiatives.
Leadership and Expertise
At the helm of MAE is Bartosz Dubiński, a seasoned professional with a rich academic background and extensive practical experience in EU-funded projects. As CEO, Dubiński oversees the agency’s strategic direction and spearheads initiatives aimed at promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption in the region.
Supported by a team of dedicated experts, including project coordinator Ewa Szulc, MAE combines technical proficiency with a passion for sustainable energy to drive positive change in the community. Their collective efforts have positioned MAE as a leader in the national energy market, influencing local and regional actors and providing invaluable expertise to the Polish energy sector.
Driving Systemic Change
MAE’s involvement in international initiatives, such as BOOSTEE-CE, PANEL 2050, CEESEU-DIGIT and CEESEU, underscores its commitment to driving systemic change at regional and national levels. Through collaborative efforts with local authorities, utilities suppliers, private companies, and educational institutions, MAE fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration aimed at achieving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
Partnering for Sustainable Impact
MAE’s participation in the CEESEN-BENDER project exemplifies its dedication to empowering communities and promoting sustainable development. As a partner, MAE will play a crucial role in reinforcing and adapting the governance and decision-making of building management actors to support the energy renovation of private multi-apartment buildings.
Through initiatives like air quality monitoring, awareness-raising workshops, and the identification of renovated ‘model’ buildings, MAE aims to showcase the benefits of energy renovations and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders. By leveraging its expertise and strategic partnerships, MAE is paving the way for a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable future in the Mazovian region and beyond.
