The CEESEN-BENDER project has been recognized as one of the key initiatives driving the energy transition in Central and Eastern Europe.
The publication “Giving LIFE to Europe’s Clean Energy Transition”, issued by the European Commission in collaboration with the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), provides an overview of the most significant projects funded under the LIFE Clean Energy Transition (LIFE CET) programme. Its aim is to accelerate the energy transition, enhance energy efficiency, and ensure a just transition for all European citizens.
The CEESEN-BENDER project focuses on the development and implementation of integrated interventions in multi-residential buildings for energy-poor households. Its long-term goal is to improve housing quality, reduce energy consumption and household costs, and strengthen the capacity of local authorities and other stakeholders for long-term planning of a just energy transition.
This award highlights the crucial role of civil society organizations in implementing European energy and climate policies where they are most needed – at the community level.
As our project coordinator, Matija Eppert, said: “Energy renovation is not only a technical matter, but also a social opportunity – because every renovated building means a warmer, healthier, and more affordable home for thousands of citizens struggling with energy poverty across Central and Eastern Europe.”
