The path to climate neutrality and green energy requires more than technology; it demands collaboration, shared knowledge, and continuity. The newly launched project brings together 18 leading energy transition initiatives from the region to bridge these gaps and ensure lasting impact across Europe.
EnTRA unites technical tools, simulation models, policy guidance, and citizen-focused resources into a single platform, making tested solutions easily accessible to municipalities, agencies, and communities striving for a clean and affordable energy future. As part of this effort, CEESEN is responsible for transferring these insights to Central and Eastern European countries, broadening the reach of sustainable energy knowledge.
The project features four key mechanisms to maximize uptake and long-term use of project results:
- Resource Hub: cataloguing practical tools and guidance.
- Policy Memorandum: Offering recommendations to boost innovation and reduce barriers.
- Institutional Ambassadors Programme: Strengthening organisational capacity for sustainable energy leadership.
- Knowledge Community: Fostering exchange and learning across borders.
In recognition of its impact, EnTRA has been awarded the Operation of Strategic Importance badge by the Interreg Joint Secretariat. Orsolya Schulz, EnTRA’s project officer, explained:
“All projects with this badge play a key role in helping the Programme reach its goals. They put combined and refined solutions into practice, turning multiple project results into a stronger, more complete package, while building authorities’ capacity and supporting regional policy development.”
By combining outcomes from Interreg Baltic Sea Region, Horizon 2020, and other European programmes, EnTRA creates a powerful ecosystem of proven solutions for citizens and public institutions alike.
The three-year project project brings together ten partners from five countries, including Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Germany, and Finland. It is co-funded by the Interreg Project Platform programme.
