Dissemination of CEESEU-DIGIT main project results during the first national webinar organised in the frame of Regio1st project
Danijela Vrtarić, assistant director of Medjimurje Energy Agency Ltd. was invited to participate at the first national webinar organised in the frame of Regio1st (Implementing the Energy Efficiency First Principle in Regional Planning) project also financed by programme LIFE. Regio1st raises awareness about the Energy Efficiency First principle (EE1st) among regional governments and their agencies and supports them to make related decisions in their planning. It does so through the provision of appropriate guidance to regional authorities to embed the EE1st principle in their decisions and in the implementation of their regional energy plans departing from six participant regions. The webinar was organised on 28th of October 2024 with the aim to inform relevant stakeholders and general public about the ongoing topics related to just (energy) transition and EE1st principles and their application within the existing national policies and relevant planning documents (such as NECP) in Croatia. Since Medjimurje Energy Agency Ltd. is also involved as project partner in the implementation of Regio1st project, this provided an opportunity to build synergies between two projects and raise awareness on importance of both principles in regional energy and climate planning.
Since the event was participated by relevant representatives from other regional governments in Croatia, the event provided the opportunity for presenting the regional energy and climate action plan for Medjimurje county with the timeframe until 2030 (i.e. ECAP+) which is currently in the development process with intention to be finalized and adopted by county prefect by end of 2024.
