Medjimurje Energy Agency together with several regional stakeholders through press release in traditional media ensured an outreach specially intended for citizens dealing with energy poverty

For the second year in the row, Medjimurje Energy Agency Ltd. together with several other regional stakeholders, participated in the preparation of the special publication attached as part of the most popular regional newspaper in order to reach wide range of citizens mainly dealing with energy poverty. The publication brings together key energy-related topics and addresses the challenges faced in daily life by readers of one of the most popular weekly newspapers in Medjimurje county, particularly during a time of rising energy prices and the climate crisis, which has made households living in or at risk of energy poverty particularly vulnerable in recent years.

The publication includes useful advices on home energy efficiency, effective heating methods, the benefits of installation of solar panels, and the advantages of living in net zero houses. These insights are provided by competent professional organizations in the fields of energy and housing. Medjimurje Energy Agency Ltd. also contributed to the publication as part of its regular activities under the CEESEU-DIGIT project, funded by the LIFE programme. Given that the goal of the CEESEU-DIGIT project is to raise awareness and provide support to socially vulnerable citizens, especially those affected by energy poverty, the Medjimurje Energy Agency Ltd. advises citizens on how to change daily habits to easily save energy, especially as colder weather approaches with higher heating bills.

In this way, i.e. by implementing minor actions in their daily life, energy-poor households can become active participants in the energy transition and, through their own investments and interventions in energy efficiency, encourage others to join the process. The publication was announced at the beginning of October 2024 and it’s also available in an online version in Croatian language.
